This paper is devoted to the experimental study of the characteristics of heptane combustion in a high-speed superheated steam jet. The completeness of the combustion under steam gasification conditions and the gas composition of the heptane combustion products cooled to room temperature were determined. The averaged temperature of the flame was measured. It is shown that the presence of superheated steam ensures high combustion efficiency and reduces emissions of nitrogen oxides in comparison with a heated air combustion. It is also shown that the organization of liquid fuel combustion in a high-speed steam jet ensures effective burning of fuel in the absence of nozzles and swirlers.
