The soft landing based on visual analysis is of great significance to planetary exploration, and there is also a good development prospect in the future. This paper introduces the process of soft landing technology and the working process of the landing camera. Taking Chang’e-3 as the main example, using methods such as descent image processing and SIFT feature matching, it explains the algorithm of Chang’e-3 to complete high-precision positioning and the process of autonomous hazard avoidance during landing. Also the accuracy of the positioning point is analyzed, which shows the effectiveness of the positioning method.
