A unidirectional carbon/epoxy composite was taken as the research subject for analysis of its strength with strain-rate effect. The theory can be further adapted and extended to the prediction of failure and progressive damage of unidirectional laminae under static and dynamic loadings. The significance of this theory is that it simplifies the formula of failure theory and may improve the prediction accuracy.
