Using a special technique proposed by the authors, the real deformation achieved during high pressure torsion (HPT) of Zr-based bulk metal glasses (BMG) was determined. The methodology included joint HPT of two halves of disks of the BMG. High-pressure torsion was conducted on a different number of revolutions. Actual produced strain is shown to be much smaller than the expected one. However, the structure of the amorphous phase in the Vit105 BMG changes considerably as a result of HPT processing. According to the X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, HPT for n = 5 revolutions leads to an increase in the free volume content by about 1.3%.
