This paper describes the behavior of a magnetodielectric emulsion “magnetic fluid in oil” in an electric field. Such an emulsion is a functional electrically controlled medium, which may be of practical interest. In an electric field, a layer of microdroplets is formed in the near-electrode region of the magnetic emulsion, and an autowave process is observed at a certain critical strength.
