Optimized design problems for giant magnetostrictive actuator (GMA) structures, the effects of structural dimensions on dynamic properties of GMA were analyzed. In this paper, an equivalent dynamic model of GMA was established, and the step response and frequency response of GMA were simulated and analyzed. The results show that the length of the giant magnetostrictive rod and the mass of the load have great influence on the dynamic performance of the GMA system.
