The article considers the use of Pareto distribution as one of the ways to assess the possible damage from rare and unique emergencies in rural and suburban areas. An approximation is made with the generalized emergency scale distribution function. The use of indicative and power distribution functions makes it possible to carry out an integral assessment of the probability of rare and unique emergencies, to assess the possible annual damage from them.
