A gas discharge between liquid electrolyte cathode and copper anode was studied experimentally. Water solutions of sodium chloride were used as liquid electrolyte. The discharge was ignited in an open air atmosphere in the current range of 2-5 A at distances of 3-18 cm between the electrodes. The conditions for the formation of volumetric plasma column in discharge gap were revealed.
