Scattering and absorption coefficients of organosilicon polymers (polysiloxanes) used in fiber optics were investigated. For this purpose a new measurement technique based on relocatable integrating spheres was implemented. A computer mathematical model of light propagation in a scattering medium was created based on the Monte Carlo method. The experimental results were approximated using this model in order to obtain absorption and scatterring characteristics of different polymer samples.
