The problem of obtaining estimates of impedance frequency characteristics in the magnetotelluric sounding method is considered. A variational algorithm is proposed for research through a variety of means of estimation from the point of view their accuracy and efficiency. The results of computational experiments on the processing of synthetic signals are presented, which represent indicators of the accuracy and efficiency of some estimation methods. The proposed approach can be used in the development of algorithms and software for the embedded system for recording and processing signals, as well as applied software for an automated system for processing signals from magnetotelluric sounding method.
