We present hybrid algorithms based on various metaheuristics for the scheduling problem with one machine and total weighted tardiness criterion. We research operators and algorithmic mechanisms provided in the literature. Advantages and disadvantages of the considered approaches are identified and analyzed. Some of the stated properties are common for scheduling problems on permutations.
