As the application fields of composite materials has been expanded, the general laminated composites would no longer be suitable used in some extreme conditions due to their weak interlaminar performance. Stitched composites appeared thanks to their high interlaminar toughness. In this paper, a new stitching method similar to ‘Tufting’ was used to improve the interlaminar performance of composites based on the existing stitching method. And resin transfer molding (RTM) method was been used to cure the perform. The observations of preforms and composites were satisfactory. Finally, the problems to be solved urgently in stitched composite were summarized.
