Mesoporous silica on the surface of nanoparticles’ magnetic Fe 3 O 4 -Fe 2 O 3 has been synthesized in one pot reaction method by using Sijunjung iron sand and Na 2 SiO 3 as raw materials. The influence of Na 2 SiO 3 mole as raw materials on the existence of silica pore size on the surface of Fe 3 O 4 -Fe 2 O 3 composite product has been studied. The product were characterized by X-ray diffraction. The results showed that mesoporous silica start to form on the surface of the Fe 3 O 4 -Fe 2 O 3 composite when Na 2 SiO 3 was used 8 times moles of iron sand. The increasing of Na 2 SiO 3 mole lead to increase of OH − concentration and transformed some Fe 3 O 4 into Fe 2 O 3
