For the computational identification of the intensity of the electric component of the electromagnetic field, methods are used in which the differential description describing of a spatial distribution of the potential is converted and then presented as the difference description. Depending on the number of terms of the series corresponding to the function searched for in the difference method, the value of each grid point can be determined by standard using the central difference of the second or fourth order. For the selected case of the 220 kV overhead powerline, the authors compared the influence of the applied order of the central difference on the calculation time and the value of the maximum relative error of the simulation.
