On the basis of the theory of stochastic equations and the theory of equivalence of measures, the flow in a plane jet is considered. As a result, in accordance with these theories, the analytical dependence for the critical Reynolds number and the expression for the critical point of the transition from the laminar flow to turbulent motion in the jet are derived. The calculations carried out using new formulas showed satisfactory agreement with the known experimental values of the critical Reynolds number.
