The paper describes aspects of Gd 2 O 3 :Nd 3+ phosphors synthesis by the liquid polymer-salt method. The double role of polyvinylpyrrolidone as an organic solvent was revealed in the process of highly-luminescent cubic nanocrystals formation. The developed technique was applied for modification of a hollow-core anti-resonant optical fiber by thin films based on the synthesized material without any structural and phase transformations of Gd 2 O 3 nanocrystals after the fiber drawing process.
