The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is a megascience complex that is dedicated to study the properties of nuclear matter at extreme temperatures and baryon chemical potentials, and to study the spin structure of the proton. In these proceedings, the current status and future developments of the megasciece complex RHIC are presented.
