The present work is devoted to simulation of hydrogen dissociation on the surface of a heated wire in a resting gas by the direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method. Two approaches to simulating heterogeneous reactions are investigated: with and without regard to the velocities of particles impinging on the surface. A numerical study was performed based on a two-step hydrogen dissociation-recombination model.
