The paper presents the results of computer modeling using the finite-element method of rock massif stress condition during the development of overworked coal seams 69 and 70 in the conditions of Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya-2 mine (Kuznetsk Coal Basin, Russia). The performed studies made it possible to obtain the distributions of stress fields around the walls in the rock massif and stress profiles, as well as stress concentrations in overworking and overworked seams. The study shows the need to consider the increased stresses from the pillars in the conditions of Taldinskaya-Zapadnaya-2 mine. It gives recommendations for the arrangement of coal roadways in seam 69 beyond the limits of increased stress zones – in discharge zones.
