A voltage regulator based on cascaded multi-level structure is proposed. Based on the analysis of its working principle, the voltage quality problems (voltage sag, swell, voltage harmonics, Fluctuation, flicker) in the power quality appearing in the distribution network, the main circuit topology, control methods and compensation strategies are proposed. The regulator can compensate for various voltage quality problems. To ensure that the voltage quality is within the rated range, a simulation model of a cascaded multi-level composite voltage regulator is established in the simulation software, and it is verified that the design scheme proposed in this paper can solve various voltage quality problems in the distribution network.
