For the first time, the experimental energy efficiency research of combined rotors of vertical-axial wind mill based on improved H-Darier and Savonius rotors, which have blades with flaps, were performed. The experiments have shown that the maximum power factor value of combined rotors reached 0.60, which is almost 1.5–2.0 times higher than that of commercially produced horizontal-axial wind mills. The semi-empirical formula is obtained that allows determining the power factor of the combined rotor with different geometric dimensions of the H-Darier and Savonius rotors that are part of it with different numbers of stages. Energetically, economically and ecologically efficient wind mills with combined rotors with the capacity of 1–10 kW can be used for autonomous power supply of heat supply, water supply of various facilities, for oil production on land and at sea, as well as for driving propellers of small vessels.
