Preface

The 15th international scientific and technical conference “Problems of energy systems and thermal power complexes” (PESPC) will be held from 6 to 9 October 2020. The conference is organized by the Saratov Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. The conference is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the formation of Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov. The purpose of the conference is to discuss new results, achievements and challenges in the field of energy systems and thermal power complexes. Areas of the conference will be the following: – physical, technical and environmental problems of thermal and nuclear power; – problems of improvement of heat and power complexes and systems; – energy and resource-saving technologies in systems of production, transport and consumption of heat and electricity; – renewable energy sources. The conference focuses on the study of the physical and technical problems of the power industry with the aim of improving and developing new energy equipment, including cogeneration plants, increasing the efficiency of renewable energy sources, improving the safety, reliability and cost-effectiveness of power generating units, including nuclear power plants. The problems of uneven of energy consumption schedules, creation of energy storage devices, including hydrogen technologies, scientific foundations of improving energy complexes are discussed. We hope that the conference will contribute to the effective development of power systems and complexes and the improvement of power generating equipment.
