In the paper the structure of Polish post-tensioned concrete poles used in 1950s and 60s for construction of overhead power lines of 110 kV voltage was described. Short description of precast concrete columns and their foundations are given with respect to technical solutions and durability. The conclusions drawn from long-term exploitation and maintenance were given on the basis of actual and contemporary Codes of Practice. On the background of these solutions modern post-tensioned spun concrete poles were presented as attractive alternative in terms of their economical efficiency.
