The adjustment time and processing time of the job on the machine are studied as an independent factor considering the influence of the adjustment time, such as installation and positioning, on the efficiency of production scheduling. A mathematical optimization model of flexible job shop scheduling with adjustment time is established based on minimizing the makespan. The improved genetic algorithm is used to solve the proposed model and achieve rapid optimization of the solution process. The Matlab software platform is used to solve the case. The experimental results show that the model and the improved algorithm are feasible and effective, and could be more effective in guiding the actual production.
