The standard developing policy of ASME is studied from the aspects of organizational structure, division of responsibilities, standard developing principle and standard developing procedures of ASME. In addition, it analyzes the characteristics of ASME standard developing process and its enlightenment to Chinese standardization work in order to give some enlightenment to social organizations who carry out standardization work.
