In order to improve the monitoring of water surface environment, the image processing of large-scale water pollution is proposed. First, UAV was used to take aerial photos of the area to be cleaned on the water, and the obtained image was preprocessed with saturation enhancement, etc. Then the image was segmented into image segmentation or edge detection to distinguish the foreground from the background. This experiment used three widely used segmentation methods to process the selected aerial image. The three methods are: threshold segmentation, region-based segmentation and morphological gradient detection.
