
Level of teachers’ knowledge and understanding in developing test questions

This study aims to describe the level of knowledge and understanding of state junior high school science teachers in compiling exam questions. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. The method of data collection was carried out through a survey using the developed questionnaire instrument. The population in this study were all state junior high school science teachers in Pidie District, and 47 teachers were randomly selected to be samples from 60 state junior high schools. The data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 67% of science teachers had a very high level of knowledge in preparing exam questions, and 50% had a high level of understanding in preparing exam questions.
