Through analysis of the features of telecom operators’ data, this study highlights the value of telecom big data in business and classifies it into two major categories. The first one is enhancing existing business to optimize traditional telecom services, like customer experience, telecom product design and network management. The other is developing derivative business such as advertisement, marketing, financial or credit services based on the strength of telecom big data.
