This article presents some strategies of bioclimatic design for hot-subhumid climate and of low energy cooling systems and how they have been implemented at the IER-UNAM buildings since 1985. Some of the experimental and numerical simulation projects carried out by the Energy in Buildings Group (GEE) are commented. Finally, the project for a new building for undergraduate students is presented, where passive and low energy strategies as night ventilation, evaporative cooling, radiative cooling and earth tube cooling are been evaluated.
