The paper regards ultimate stress state of an unbounded plate with a circular opening made of orthotropic material. Unlike isotropic material, this problem is not axisymmetric. The solution to the problem was carried out by an iterative method. As a first approximation, a corresponding problem solution was used, assuming that the radial and tangential stresses are the main ones. The obtained solution is compared with the stress state of the plate, achieved under the assumption that the problem is axisymmetric.
