This proceeding presents the written contributions of the participants of the V International Conference Days of Applied Mathematics (V ICDAM), which was held from 15 to 17 May 2019, at the Barranquilla, Colombia, and was organized by the “Facultad de Ciencias Basicas y Biomedicas” of the Universidad Simon Bolivar. The purpose of the V ICDAM was to share experiences of mathematical knowledge for solving situations/problems seen from different contexts. The topics developed in this conference was: (i) Mathematical Didactics (MD), (ii) Mathematical Modelling (MM), (iii) Scientific Computing (SC), and (iv) Multidisciplinary Science (MS) Within the framework of this conference, the Olympic of University Applied Mathematics and the Olympic of High School Applied Mathematics were held. With these latest activities, the idea is to mitigate the gap between high school and higher education in the region, inviting students of the 11th grade and the math teachers from schools and institutions of higher education located in the metropolitan area of Barranquilla.
