Synopsis Convergent close-coupling method has been applied to positron scattering by the hydrogen negative ion. Internal consistency of the method and convergence of the cross sections are achieved with use of both the single- and two-centre approaches. Calculations were performed using accurate target wave functions obtained with the multi-core approach.
