The paper presents the magnetic, optical and magneto-optical properties of easy-plane and easy-axis films on the base of Bi-garnet. The possibilities and features of the operation of these films as sensors in eddy current magneto-optical introscopy are shown on the example of visualization of linear defects in products made from aluminum alloys.
