This paper deals with the modeling of flows and transport of sand particles during erosion of pipelines. The results of an experimental study of velocity fields and numerical CFD modeling in a three-dimensional transient formulation on the basis of Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations in the ANSYS software package are presented. Modeling was carried out with different arrangement of pipelines, simulating cylinders, on a sandy bottom. The influence of the number of cylinders on the process of bottom soil reformation is analyzed.
