The atomic ordering in the Au 35.3 Cu 52.6 Pd 12.1 alloy was studied by field ion microscopy. It was found that the removal of internal stresses in the alloy during the disorder → order transition occurs due to the formation of c-domain lamellas from 2 to 10 nm wide at the early stages of ordering. The use of computer modeling for the interpretation of ion images provided with the identification and evaluation of the superstructural defects quantitative characteristics.
