
Nanostructuring of the T31507 steel surface by vanadium borides under the influence electron beams in a vacuum

The microstructures and microhardness of boride layers formed on die steel of T31507 by electron-beam boron reduction in vacuum are investigated and compared. Formed layers have a heterogeneous structure, combining solid and plastic components, leading to a decrease in brittleness of the boride layer.
