In the present study, the numerical problem of heat and mass transfer in a closed copper radiator filled with n-octadecane heated from an energy source with an unsteady volumetric heat generation was considered. Governing equations in dimensionless nonprimitive variables “stream function – vorticity – temperature” describing conductive and convective heat and mass transfer processes taking into account the melting phenomenon were given. The evolution of temperature fields and the integral heat exchange coefficient at different heat release regimes was considered.
