We perform Direct numerical simulations of the flow over a cylinder to study the influence of the thermal boundary conditions on the Nusselt number distribution. The results show very good agreement with some data from the literature. The total Nusselt number for the constant heat flux (CHF) boundary condition is higher for some 15% than for the constant wall temperature (CWT) condition for both Re < 200 and 1000.
