In this paper, we suggested a new approach to obtained an optimal sequence “for fuzzy sequencing problem with trapezoidal fuzzy number.” Using new fuzzy arithmetic operation and ranking method, an improved algorithm is proposed to obtain the fuzzy total elapsed time for processing all the jobs without converting problem into classical form. The approach is efficiently illustrated with a numerical example.
