The paper investigates steady-state oscillations of an elastic medium of a layered structure, containing internal defects such as flat cavity-cracks and coating, using the differential factorization method. Systems of integral equations that describe relations between stresses and displacements in the planes of layer separation with jumps of displacements on the crack faces are constructed. The authors obtain solutions of the resulting integral equation systems for particular cases of areas occupied by defects in the final form using the Wiener-Hopf integral factorization methods or the methods of fictitious absorption.
