Reactive power optimization of power system is a complex problem with many variables. Its variable type from the continuous variable, namely, have discrete ‘variable again. In this paper, genetic algorithm is adopted as the reactive power optimization algorithm, and the minimum loss of active power network is selected as the objective function to discuss the reactive power optimization method of distribution network.
