A new interpolation technique based on an optimized near end-points Akima’s cubic spline method is proposed in order to plot the profile of longitudinal section in a boat such that the aerodynamic properties will be improved. As a result of the method, the boat shape permit to reduce the water resistance in the forward motion. The method is illustrated by simulating the boat shape using the proposed method in comparison with the shapes provided by the natural cubic spline and by the Akima’s cubic spline interpolation procedures.
