Message from Chairman

First of all, please allow me to extend my warmest greetings to all of you to The First International Conference on Vocational Education of Mechanical and Automotive Technology (ICOVEMAT) 2018 at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. The conference is successfully held on October 20 th , 2018. Automotive and mechanical technologies are interconnected and evolving together. The community widely uses the applications of both technologies. The high demand for transportation and mobility, making automotive technology continues to be developed. These developments are followed by vocational education institutions that prepare skilled workers in automotive and mechanical engineering. Vocational education evolves with the development of technology, ranging from curriculum to application of technology used for the learning process. The principle of professional training demands vocational education demands vocational education institutions be always relevant to the industrial. Thus, to give contribution to the enhancement of those areas, this ICOVEMAT conference choose the topic of innovation and development of occupation, qualification, technology, education and training, especially which relates to technology and vocational teachers. Selected papers from this event will be published by IOP Proceedings Series in Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Hence, we would like to express our gratitude to the reviewers who have evaluate submitted manuscripts and gave constructive comments and suggestions to the authors. We also proudly present one keynote speech, two plenary presentation sessions and parallel presentation sessions. The keynote speaker is Prof. Hishamuddin Jamaluddin from Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Southern University College, Malaysia. For plenary presentations we have Dr Putu Sudira from Faculty Engineering, Yogyakarta State University and Assoc Prof Ng Heong Wah, from School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering of College of Engineering, NTU Singapore. Finally, we thank to the Steering Committee; Organizing Committee; Editors and Participants of this conference for their fruitful work and their excellent contribution to the development of this proceedings and conference.
