Preface The 1st CNVC2019

The 1st Colloquium on Noise, Vibration and Comfort (CNVC) is the 1 st in a series organised by Society of Vibration and Acoustics Malaysia (SVAM) and was successfully held at Kelab Shah Alam, Selangor Malaysia on 7 th March 2019. The colloquium covers the particular area of research in noise, vibration and comfort. The colloquium aims to facilitate researchers around the world to publish and share their current research findings. These proceedings contain 35 scientific papers that have been carefully peer-reviewed and selected from 80 papers submitted by participants from both local and international universities. The papers exhibit concise, clear and lucid expositions that appeal to a wide international readership in science, technology and engineering. The topics of the Colloquium covered, include Industrial Noise and Vibration, Machining Vibration, Noise Vibration and Harshness, Structural Vibration, Acoustics Emission, Building Acoustics and Vibration, Computing and Simulation Techniques in NVC, Emerging Acoustics and Vibration Technology, Energy Harvesting, Environmental Sound and Vibration Issues, Human Vibration, Structural Health Monitoring, Vibration Control and other topics related to NVC. The papers present original ideas or significant general results supported by clear reasoning and compelling evidence. In addition, methods, theories and practices that are relevant to the fields of research are successfully adopted and demonstrated. In this series, CNVC2019 representatives appointed are a group of people from different experiences and backgrounds in academia and industrial sectors. The plenary and invited speakers presented, discussed, promoted, and disseminated research in all fields of noise, vibration and comfort in constructive ways.
