A blind recognition Algorithm of amplitude modulation-ASK and QAM signals is proposed in this paper. Without requiring any prior information of the accepted signal, this algorithm employs the instantaneous amplitude of the incoming signal to recognize the modulation order, i.e., M, using the clustering centers of the amplitude. It is found that this new algorithm is practical and steady in recognition amplitude modulation signal in the presence of AWGN.
