Electronic piracy is perceived as a growing threat to the publishing industry. This article looks at the technology of copyright infringement and the channels for distribution of infringing electronic copies. It considers the English legal framework for dealing with electronic piracy, and the practical steps that publishers can take to reduce the risks of piracy.
