Increasing financial pressures on academic publishing and a rapid rate of change create a need for a wider range of financial information to ensure optimum efficiency, and to ensure that the financial implications of new developments are fully understood and planned for. The article describes a number of practical techniques and concepts to respond to these new requirements.
