Though Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) drew inspiration from several sources, its co‐founder emphasised that the Oxford Group made the greatest contribution to its practical programme of recovery. The story of AA's beginning, growth and spread to Australia is recounted in this paper, simply, without comment.
