The neurological and neuropathological effects of alcohol abuse are reviewed. They include acute intoxication, withdrawal syndromes, trauma, cerebro‐vascular events, liver disease effects, secondary malnutrition effects, chronic toxicity, miscellaneous associated disorders and the foetal alcohol syndrome.
