The population of pregnant narcotic addicts in Adelaide is small. These patients can suffer a wide range of medical and obstetric problems, causing great anxiety to obstetric hospital staff. A case history of such a patient is detailed and the liaison developed between obstetric hospital and drug clinic is described. Mutual benefit for hospital, drug clinic and patients has been evident.
